Michael Slobodian
Michael Peter Slobodian (1958 - May 28, 1975) was a Canadian student who perpetrated the Brampton Centennial High School shooting in Brampton, Ontario, Canada killing 2 people and wounded 13 with two rifles before killing himself.
Background[edit]
Michael Slobodian is described as a quiet, friendly boy who liked guns and played a few instruments. At age 16 he received a Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle as a birthday present. Despite being a good student he hated the school system and in a note said he wanted to kill Professors Wright and Bronson.
Shooting[edit]
On May 28, 1975 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada Michael Slobodian went to Brampton Centennial High School at 11:35 a.m. armed with a Marlin Model 444 lever-action rifle and a Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle hidden in a case. He went to the first floor bathroom where he killed John Slinger and wounded two people then he went to the hallways where he continued shooting wounding more people. He then entered the arts classroom where he fatally shot Margaret E. Wright and wounded two students and finally went to a hallway where he committed suicide.
