Militant Islam or Islamic terrorism is the extreme wing of the Islam belief, totally at odds with the mainstream. It is also commonly associated with terrorism and extremism, due to groups that think they are helping the "Islamist" agenda. They often wage jihad - or "holy wars" - again their enemies.
