=== Early life and drug business === Oseguera was born in Aguililla, Michoacan, Mexico on July 17, 1966. He dropped out of school at the age of 14 to work in the fields, and at the age of 19 illegally immigrated to Central California. While there, he became involved in metamphetamine production distribution together with his friend (later brother-in-law) [[Abigael González Valencia]] and his brother Abraham Oseguera Cervantes. They were deported in 1986, but returned, only to be busted for [[heroin]]. In 1994 Cervantes was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison. After his sentence ended, Oseguera was deported to Mexico, and returned to drug smuggling in Tijuana. It is believed that the local cartel could have killed him, but made a gentleman's agreement allowing him to simply leave their plaza.
