Niels Högel (born 1967) is a German serial killer nicknamed "the angel of death", a nickname he shares with Richard Angelo, Amelia Dyer, Louis Antonine de Saint-Just, Charles Cullen, Kristen Gilbert, Beverly Alitt, Donald Harvey, Josef Mengele, Miyuki Ishikawa, Harold Shipman and others.

Högel was raised in Wilhelmshaven, Saxony by a male nurse. He followed in his father's footsteps, however he was arrested in 2005 for attempted murder after he was caught trying to inject a patient with ajmaline. He was convicted and sentenced to seven and a half years in jail.

While Högel was imprisoned, a woman came forward and stated that she believed he had killed her mother. This lead to a new investigation, which determined that Högel had killed patients at the hospital he worked at. Högel himself admitted to having killed 30 patients by administering a lethal injection. He is now believed to have possibly killed up to 300 patients this way. On the 6th of June 2019, Högel was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
