The '''Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ''', commonly shortened to Peoples Temple, was a religious cult founded By [[Jim Jones]] in 1955.

The Cult Mixes Christianity With Communist and Socialism Ideology. The cult was disbanded following the mass suicide at Jonestown on November 18<sup>th</sup>, 1978. Jonestown resulted in the largest single loss of American civilian life in a deliberate act until [[September 11 attacks]].
