Pope Paul III (real name Alessandro Farnese) served as Pope from 13 October 1534 to his death in 1549. He is believed to have come to power by murdering members of his family by gaining their wealth. He also delivered harsh punishments to people who failed him and supposedly had a sexual relationship with his daughter.
