Pyromania is a mental illness that involves an individual having a fascination and obsession to deliberately setting fire to properties, and explosives.[1] The term pyromania comes from the Greek word πῦρ (pyr, 'fire'). Pyromania is distinct from arson, an event involving intentionally setting fire to properties.[2] Usually, cases of pyromania occur to children and teenagers.[3]
