Razing edit

After the surrender of Crete on 31st May 1941, paratrooper commander Kurt Student ordered a series of reprisals to be committed against the civilian populace as revenge for casualties inflicted upon his men. A day after the Kondomari Massacre, another war crime committed under Student's orders, troops lead by Horst Trebes reached the town of Kandanos and proceeded to slaughter 180 residents and all the town's livestock before dynamiting the town. The troops also did the same to nearby towns such as Floria and Kakopetro soon after.
