Rod Blagojevich (December 10, 1956-) was the former governor of Illinois from 2003-2009. Blagojevich was a state representative before being elected to the United States House of Representatives representing parts of Chicago. In 2010, Blagojevich was put on trial for corruption and attempting to sell Barrack Obama's seat in the senate.

Acts of Villainy

On December 2008, Blagojevich was charged with corruption. The Justice Department complaint alleged the Blagojevich conspired to commit several "pay to play" schemes and to "obtain personal gain...through the corrupt use". This led to Blagojevich's impeachment and removal from office due to not only corruption but for also soliciting bribes for political appointments, including Barack Obama's vacant seat in the U.S. senate after he was elected president in 2008. Blagojevich was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2009 and was convicted on August 2010.
