Ruben "Doc" Cavazos

Ruben "Doc" Cavazos is an American gangster and former president of the Mongols Motorcycle Club. Originally a member of a Los Angeles street gang called the Avenues, he joined the Mongols because of his interest in motorcycling. By 2002, he became National President and began expanding the club outside California, and even outside the US. However, his methods were not without their flaws. Many of his new recruits were members of Sureño gangs, and thus owed allegiance to the Mexican Mafia. This drew the Mongols into conflict with them when the Mexican Mafia demanded a share of their drug earnings. Doc held a vote, and they refused to pay.
In 2008 Doc was arrested and sentenced to 14 years for racketeering. A few months before the arrest, he had been removed from office as President for allegedly attempting to provoke a war with the Mexican Mafia, and embezzlement.
The name "Doc" comes from his radiology license.
