Ruby Thomas was a British teenager who along with her ex-boyfriend Joel Alexander and Rachael Burke kicked and stamped a 62-year-old gay man, Ian Baynham, to death in Trafalger Square around September 2009 when they were drunk. Before the beating, she screamed "fucking faggots" at Baynham and a friend, Phillip Brown. Baynham got a severe brain injury from falling before he was attacked, and he died in a hospital 18 days later. Thomas was sentenced to 7 years in a young offender’s institution, which she began in 2011, her ex-boyfriend Joel Alexander was given 6 years for the attack, and Burke was given 2 years.

Thomas is from Anerley, South London, England. Sometime before the attack she had been expelled from school.
