Russian Roulette is a deadly "game" of chance that is also a form of torture and execution, it is very popular in fiction and many figures in history have claimed to have played this game and survived (amongst them Malcolm X). Russian Roulette can be voluntary or forced upon a group - regardless the rules remain the same with a pistol being loaded with a single bullet, the participants proceed to take turns pointing the gun to their heads and pulling the trigger until one unfortunate individual ends up receiving the often fatal bullet. Russian Roulette became even more infamous after it was used in the Vietnam film The Deer Hunter, the scene was controversial at the time and later became viewed as a metaphor for the Vietnam War itself.
