Ryan Lawrence (born 1990/1991) was a man who used a baseball bat to kill his 21-month-old daughter, Maddox, on February 20, 2016 after finding out about the attention she received from her eye cancer survival. During the incident, he beat his daughter with a baseball bat to death, burnt her body for about three hours in a fire pit, and then put her body, anchored with cinder blocks, in a creek. Approximately 36 hours after there were alerts about Maddox's disappearance, police divers found her body in the creek. In the aftermath of the incident, Lawrence was caught in Baldwinsville, about ten miles from Syracuse. Later in 2016, Lawrence was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of his daughter.
