Shoko Asahara (麻原彰晃) (Born: 2nd March 1955 - 6th July 2018) originally known as Chizuo Matsumoto (松本智津夫) was a japanese terrorist and a doom cult leader of his own founded Aum Shinrikyo religious group, infamous for it's 1995 sarin gas attack at a subway station.
Early Life edit
Shoko Asahara was born Chizuo Matsumoto on 2nd March 1955 to a poor family in the kyushu island prefecture, his father was a peasant farmer while his mother was a housewife who took care him along with his other 9 siblings, they lived a rural life in the countryside area of kyushu island, he was born with one blind eye and another partially blind eye, because of this condition he had from his birth, he had difficulty in studying and reading.

His parents enrolled him into a blind school and there he often bully students and use his partially blind eye as his advantage towards who are completely blind and will not stop their torment unless they give their money and lunch for him, some of his former classmates volunteered to be interviewed regarding about him who claimed that they used to be his classmates and described him as a typical classic bully who takes advantage of his less worst birth defection compared to other students who are completely blind that we're his classmates.

Shoko Asahara made some little money from the various jobs he took, he was first arrested for practicing medicine without a license in 1984 when was 29 years old, at that time he also decided to became interest at reading religious books about world religions during his reading times, he had an interest towards religion and therefore at this time he also founded his religious group called the aum shinrikyo and hired some followers and his group eventually grew a little bit with more followers, he purchased weapons from russia and some helicopters for his group, people around the world would visit him for his religious habits, in 1990 they tried to run for the government position as they are hoping to gain seats in the japanese parliament however that attempt made resulted in failure.
the hopelessness of his group in the promotion to the popularity in japan, made him even further to grow hate towards the japanese society regarding how people acted there.
1995 Subway Station Terrorist Attack edit
Shoko Asahara and his followers made a number of sarin gases intended to be put in the garbage bins of the subway station to kill dozens of people as they believe that god commanded them and offers them a reward in return if they processed the attack and became successful afterwards, him and his followers quietly comes into the station, and coat their sarin gases with a brown plastic of a bread while having an another coated plastic bag to avoid the detection of the people around their surroundings with the sarin gases while trying to put it in the garbage bins in the subway station and they later became successful in putting all of the sarin gases in the garbage bins.
10-12 minutes later the sarin gases that are put onto the garbage bins started to smell out and many people suddenly collapsed by the ones who inhaled it and some of them vommitted as an effect of the poison from the sarin gas, many emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and quickly deploy their biohazard team to eliminate the surrounding poison in the subway station, witnesses say that a group of men wearing black jackets with a aum shinrikyo logo on the back of their black jackets are the ones who put the sarin gases in the garbage bins, due to this statement made by the witnesses when police asked them what happened and who did it, the authorities suspect that it was the religious aum shinrikyo that was responsible for the attack in the subway station using sarin gases being put into the garbage bins to smell out from there to poison people near it by poisoning the air in the surroundings of the subway station.
Aftermath edit
Asahara was arrested in 1995 just 2 days after the subway attack along with his followers by the japanese police and raided their headquarters, the police confiscate all of their group's belongings including their vehicles that was impounded by the authorities and the government ordered the total ban of their religious group for the terrorism attack at a subway station using a sarin gas being put into garbage bins in the subway station, and decided that there would be no any garbage bins in any subway stations to prevent this tragedy from happening again to anyone who is willing to do and follow the aum shinrikyo's actions, there are more than 200 arrestees including shoko asahara who was the leader of the religious group aum shinrikyo.
Motive for the Subway Station Terrorist Attack edit
According to some people who occasionally visits him for his so called "blessing" claimed by his followers that he did the attack as god's commandment and his mission to fulfill god's request and that he will be granted a full ticket to the heaven and a wealth fortune for himself and the people in his religious group if he did the attack and came out successfully.
Trial and Death edit
Shoko Asahara was sentenced to death penalty in year 2004, along with his followers it was supposed to take place in june 2012 but it was postponed due to the authorities had recently arrested new suspected last members of the religious group, in 2018, vice news made a documentary and an interview with rika matsumoto who was shoko asahara's daughter, just few days before shoko asahara's execution and his daughter came into his defense that he should be given life in prison instead reasoning that he was mentally ill and do not understand his actions because of this condition, however the authorities rejected all of the life imprisonment request attempts made by his daughter and the people who are present in her hearing regarding her father got angry towards her for her father's action and she apologized to them afterwards and also included the families of sarin gas attack victims, shoko asahara's daughter told the vice news during her interview that she was trying to visit her father for the last several years and wanted to ask why he did the sarin gas attack in the subway station, but his father would not come out of his cell despite the visit attempts made by her daughter to see him in the detention house, 24 hours later shoko asahara's daughter received a notification from the tokyo detention house that his father was executed along with his followers in the morning of 6th of july 2018, 23 years after the sarin gas attack in the subway station in tokyo in year 1995.
