Terrorism is the act of doing serious harm to spread terror and further a cause. Acts of terrorism generally constitute mass murder, but lesser crimes can also constitute acts of terror. For example, crimes such as the attack on Andy Ngo committed by Antifa can be counted as terrorism if committed for political ends. Also keep severity in mind. Hitting somebody for having a different political opinion would not be terrorism; shooting at said person would.
