Tijuana Cartel
The Tijuana Cartel (Spanish: Cártel de Tijuana) also called the Arellano-Félix Organization (Spanish: Cártel Arellano Félix - CAF) is a Mexican drug cartel based in Tijuana. Originally part of the Guadalajara Cartel, it formed as the cartel splintered following the arrest of Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo. It was founded by the Ramon and Benjamin Arellano-Félix, and is currently led by their sister Enedina.
Although Tijuana is one of Mexico's "original" drug cartels together with the Sinaloa and Juárez cartels, in the 2000s it was weakened by infighting that concluded with one faction being broken by arrests of its leadership. In 2011 it joined forces with the Sinaloa Cartel, but later allied with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel along with the Gulf Cartel Metros faction. However even this alliance is not expected to last, as the Jalisco Cartel's representative in that area was assassinated following fears of the Tijuana Cartel being overthrown.
