Sunstrum was arrested for her crimes, where she was expected to be thrown in jail for 14 days for her crimes. But Judge Christopher R. Cooper decided to not sentence her to jail, instead leaving her on probation due to "legal uncertainty about whether he could render such a split sentence". Instead, Sunstrum was sentenced three months probation, 30 days home confinement, and a fine of $500 in restitution.
