== Motive ==
A girl claiming to be the perpetrator's ex-girlfriend discloses that Vladislav would confide in her his struggles of [[bullying]] he reportedly faced from others, despite contradictory statements from others who knew Roslyakov. Roslyakov had stated that he wanted to exact revenge on "evil professors". Despite this, the perpetrator reportedly never displayed any sort of aggression towards his peers. During his freshman year at Kerch Polytechnic Institute, Roslyakov apparently equipped himself with a knife, although there have been no reported incidents regarding any use of the weapon.

Roslyakov and his mother lived in poverty, and the perpetrator claimed to have been bullied for dressing in "poor clothes". Despite his hatred for the Institute, Vladislav Roslyakov received satisfactory grades and was frequently praised by professors as being a model student. Roslyakov also left behind a social media trail, belonging to multiple online groups centered around the discussion of murderers (specifically serial killers). Unsurprisingly (as evident from his clothing on the day of the massacre and the attack itself), the perpetrator was enraptured by the Columbine massacre that was carried out nineteen years prior by students [[Eric Harris]] and [[Dylan Klebold]]. Purportedly, Vladislav was a member of a group dedicated to the teen killers and expressed to friends that "it would be good to have a massacre" [most likely referring to Kerch Polytechnic Institute].
