Zhang Jun
Zhang Jun (1966-2001) was a Chinese serial killer and robber.
Zhang was arrested in 1989 after dropping out of school and sentenced to labour reform. In 1993, Zhang and his friend Liu Baogang attempted a robbery, but the robbery failed and Liu was injured. Zhang then finished him off with a hammer. Zhang tried to escape to Guangxi, but didn't have enough money to go, so he robbed and killed a businessman and used his money to escape.
While in Guangxi, Zhang acquired a mistress, Quan Hongyan, who gave him a gun. Zhang then lured two prostitutes up a mountain and shot them in order to kill them quickly.
From 1995 to 2000, Zhang carried out robberies in Chongqing, Shanghai, Changsha, Hebei, Wuhan, Anxiang and Changde, mostly killing people in the process. In 2000, the Chinese police issued a warrant for his arrest, and he was tracked down and arrested on September 21 along with Quan. Zhang was found guilty of robbery and murder and sentenced to death.
He was executed on 20 May 2001.
