  • January 1 - Indigenous Australian Genocide: in Victoria, Australia, over one hundred Gundidj natives are killed by a group of whalers for stealing one of their whale kills. This incident was reported a decade later by George Augustus Robinson.
  • October 28 - Indigenous Australian Genocide: in Pinjarra, Western Australia, a police party led by governor James Stirling orchestrated a massacre against a Noongar tribe and killed 15 people.
