- May 1 - Indigenous Australian Genocide: an unknown number of natives is killed by a reprisal party in retaliation for the murders of several settlers in the Port Lincoln district at Pillaworta Station.
- August 14 - American Indian Wars: the Second Seminole War ends without a peace treaty, and 4,000 Seminoles are forcibly transported to Indian territory, and only 350 remained in Florida as of a result.
- Unknown - Indigenous Australian Genocide: at the Richmond River, a series of massacres begin against Bungjalung people. Bungjalung natives are killed in retaliation for the deaths of four settlers at Pelican Creek.
