- January 1 - 2025 New Orleans truck attack
- January 1 - 2025 Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion
- January 15 - President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol is successfully arrested after a second attempt by police following a martial law declaration and successful impeachment motion last December.
- January 15 - Israel and Hamas approve a ceasefire agreement that intends to end the Gaza War, exchange Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and allow in international aid. It takes effect on January 19.
- January 16 - The National Liberation Army (ELN) launches multiple attacks in the Catatumbo region, northeastern Colombia. More than 100 people are killed during the clashes.
- January 18 - Two Sharia judges (Ali Razini and Mohammad Moghiseh) are assassinated in their rooms at the Supreme Court of Iran in capital Tehran. The gunman injures two other people and kills himself after the attacks.
- January 20 - Donald Trump officially begins his second term as President of the United States. In his first act as President, he grants clemency to over 1500 participants of the January 6 riot.
- January 29 - The Syrian Revolution Victory Conference is held. Ahmed al-Sharaa is declared as the transitional president of Syria, and Tahrir al-Sham is subsequently disbanded.
- February 4 - At least 11 people are killed (including the perpetrator), and another 15 are injured after a gunman, 35-year-old Rickard Andersson, opens fire at an adult education centre in Örebro, Sweden, the deadliest mass shooting in the country's history.
- February 22 - 2025 Mulhouse stabbing attack
- March 7 - Rodrigo Duterte is indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on 43 counts of crimes against humanity perpetrated during the war on drugs he launched during his tenure as President of the Philippines.
- March 8 - More than 1,000 people, including civilians, are reported killed in a crackdown by Syrian goverment security forces in the Alawite region, described as the country's worst violence for years.
- March 11 - Rodrigo Duterte is arrested by the Philippine National Police and Interpol Manila at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and subsequently transferred to the ICC in The Hague.
