  • January 2 - A 13 year old boy named Oliver Stephens is stabbed to death in Emmer Green.
  • January 6 - The United States Capitol is stormed by right-wing extremists in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results and allow Donald Trump to remain in office. As a result, 5 people (4 protesters and 1 police officer) are killed.
  • January 7 - Carlos Alarcón is found guilty of the murder of Camilo Catrillanca and of the attempted murder of a teenager nicknamed "M.A.P.C.".
  • January 8 - La Vega raid: members of the Special Action Forces, the National Police and the National Guard take over the parish of La Vega in Caracas and begin to arrest and execute civilians. 23 people die.
  • January 13 - Donald Trump became the first and only president to be impeached for the second time by the House of Reprenstatives.

  • January 21 - The 2021 Baghdad bombings are carried out when two ISIS suicide bombers attack an open-air market in central Baghdad, killing at least 32 people and injuring another 110.
  • February 1 - Aung San Suu Kyi is deposed as State Councilor of Myanmar in a coup lead by Min Aung Hlaing. The State Administration Council is subsequently established as the country’s executive body.
  • February 1 - American rapper Silentó is arrested in DeKalb County, Georgia and charged with murder in the shooting death of his cousin, Frederick Rooks.
  • February 2 - Lord's Resistance Army member Dominic Ongwen is convicted on 61 counts of war crimes by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

  • April 20 - Idriss Déby, President of Chad, is killed in combat while commanding army forces against the Front for Change and Concord in Chad (FACT). His son, Mahamat Déby Itno, is appointed chairman of a Transitional Military Council.
  • April 23 - Bryant Moreland's YouTube channel (EDP445) is terminated.
  • May 1 - The Taliban begins a critical offensive in Afghanistan as US coalition forces withdraw from the country.
  • May 2-4 - Raymond Donini creates a plant capable of shooting out poison, and plans on having it kill Americans and Africans.
  • May 6 to 21 - Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad launch a series of coordinated rocket attacks into Israel from Gaza in protest of the Israeli Supreme Court's decision to evict Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah, a neighborhood of East Jerusalem. 122 Palestinians, including 31 children, are killed, while seven Israelis, including one child, are killed.

  • June 13 - Benjamin Netanyahu is ousted as Prime Minister of Israel after opposition leaders in the Knesset agree to form a coalition government. Naftali Bennett subsequently becomes Prime Minister.
  • June 25 - Derek Chauvin is found guilty of all three charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and manslaughter, in relation to the death of George Floyd. He is sentenced to 270 months (22.5 years) in prison.
  • June 30 - Bill Cosby's rape conviction is vacated by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court due to violation of his 5th Amendment and 14th Amendment rights, and he is released from prison after serving only three years of his sentence.
  • July 6 - Haitian president Jovenel Moise is assassinated in a night-time attack by "unidentified Spanish-speaking individuals".
