  • June 12 - U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un meet with each other at a summit at the Capella Hotel in Setosa, Singapore, to try and normalize relations. It is the first ever meeting between leaders of North Korea and the United States. 
  • June 18 - XXXTentacion is shot to death after a group of four people mugged him. The four people in question are Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen, and Trayvon Newsome.

  • September 1 - Suge Knight is sentenced to 28 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter in regard to a 2015 hit-and-run attack.
  • September 6 - Amber Guyger murders African-American man Botham Jean when she accidently walks into his apartment, mistaking it for her own and believing him to be an intruder.
  • September 7 - Joe Exotic is indicted on eight counts of violating the Lacey Act by falsifying wildlife records, and on nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act by killing five tigers and for selling tigers across state lines, as well as one count of conspiracy and one count of attempted murder as part of a plot to kill his rival Carole Baskin.
  • September 25 - Bill Cosby is sentenced to 3 to 10 years in state prison for sexual assault.
  • October 2 - Saudi dissident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi is assassinated inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey by a death squad known as "Tiger Squad", allegedly on the direct orders of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
