Ilnaz Galyaviev (born September, 11th, 2001) is a Russian school shooter who committed the mass shooting in Kazan gymnasium No 175 on May 11th, 2021. He shot dead 9 people and wounded 23 using Hatsan Escort shotgun.

Early life[edit]

Galyaviev Ilnaz Rinatovich was born in Kazan, at 11th September in 2001. He was studying in gymnasium 175 where the shooting will take place for 9 years. His former classmates told that he talked with nobody. In 2017 Galyaviev attended the TISBI college, he was on forth year of studying when massacre happened.

Preparing[edit]

His family moved away from him at 1th April, and according to his words, this day Ilnaz realised that he is God. At 21th of April Ilnaz got expelled from college for not visiting exams, a week later he bought Hatsan Escort shotgun in Yoshkar-Ola, the same shotgun that was used by other Russian school shooter, Vladislav Roslyakov. He earned money by selling his CS:GO skins. At 5th of May he made bomb in his appartament using instructions from Internet. In the same day he created Telegram channel called "God".

Kazan school shooting[edit]

At the first day after May holidays continued by Vladimir Putin to 10th of May, he visited his former school to check lessons schedule. Ilnaz went to school another time in 8:30, wearing trenchcoat and "GOD" mask, he had two bags (with ammos and bomb) and shotgun. Galyaviev also tried to burn his own flat before attack. He shoot in girl near entrance for three times, but missed. Right after this 62-year-old school worker tried to stop the shooter, but he got shot in head. The guard pressed a panic button, and the principal told all teachers to lock down children in classes using school radio. The shooter was walking in hallways, trying to open doors and shooting everyone he saw. He murdered one teacher who left her class to check what was going on. He put the bomb on pan near English-language room and run away to third floor. One of the classes had not been closed - Ilnaz entered it and murdered 7 eight-graders. Then he shot dead another teacher and tried to enter closed class, posed himself as police officer. After this, he returned to class when most of his kills took place and shot two children trying to espace it through windows. He finally exited the school and had been surrendered to the police.

Aftermath[edit]

While Ilnaz was sitting in police car, he tried to commit suicide by biting his artery, but he was stopped. After this during interrogation he was swearing and screaming that he is God and he hates everyone. Next day his arrest was continued to July, later to October. He was brought to Moscow in psychiatric ward of pre-trial detention center "Butyrka". He can be sentenced to life if the expertise admits him sane.

  • In 2016, Ilnaz joked about attacking his teacher with Molotov's Cocktail.
  • He was born in the day of New York terrorist attack.
  • Judging by his CS:GO achievements, he liked to play as terrorists.
  • He once suggested his college classmate to "join sect".
