Abigail Paez and Magdalena Esposito Valenti are lesbian partners who were accused and then proven guilty of killing five year old Lucio Dupuy, who was the biological son of the latter, and the adoptive son of the former.

The case is known as one of the vilest and most repulsive ones in Argentina's history, due to the sheer brutality of it as well as the complete failure of the Justice system.

Background

There is little to no information regarding the biography of both women, it is only known that Magdalena Esposito Valenti was the girlfriend of Christian Dupuy, the victim's father, and that Lucio Dupuy was born in five of July, in 2016, in General Pico, a city of Argentina, with Christian having obtained a job in a zoo of Lujan, so all of them moved to Lujan. Magdalena then stated that she was not happy with their relationship, so they ended it, with Lucio having been temporarily at the care of his grandparents, who were the parents of Christian, and with Magdalena, who entered a new relationship with her lesbian girlfriend, Abigail Paez, visiting her son sometimes. The child was then sent with her biological mother and her new girlfriend, and it was right there, that the first signs of abuse were shown, when Lucio's grandparents took him to the hospital, and there the boy told them that Abigail had hit him. After that, in 2018, both women temporarily renounced to their custody rights, and sent a message to Lucio's uncle, Maximiliiano Dupuy, who is Christian Dupuy's brother, so he could take him to his home, in where he was taken care of until 2020, when both women reclaimed their son, and falsely accused Maximiliano of sexual abuse. The paternal family of the boy reclaimed their custody rights as well, but they were ignored by the justice system, which prioritized the link with the boy's mother, even despite there being proof of both women being drug addicts thanks to many posts made by them in social media. The only moments in which the grandparents could see Lucio, were through video calls, all of them which only occurred when the couple needed money, since they send messages to Lucio's grandparents so they could send the respective money to them. When this happened, the two elders implored them to be able to see their grandson only for a few minutes. It is been revealed that both grandparents had to pay up to 50.000 Argentine pesos for these video calls.

Lucio Dupuy's Murder

Abigail and Magdalena beat 5-year-old Lucio Dupuy to death in November 2021. They claimed he had been killed in an accidental fall, but an autopsy showed he had suffered repeated physical and sexual abuse in the months leading up to his death, and neighbours testified that they had witnessed him sustain numerous injuries as a result of physical abuse from Paez and Valenti. They were found guilty of aggravated murder and sexual abuse in February 2023.

“Don't have children if you really don't want to or don't plan for it as a big goal or as the most important thing in your life. Do not bring kids into the world to suffer the c... of your p... mother”, was the tweet that Abigail Páez, Lucio's mother's girlfriend, had published on October 15. Thus, one day before the boy lost his life, the woman wrote: "Today I would have to set up the pool, but I have to do so many things that I will not be able to."

Going back to November 1st, she had written on her personal Twitter account: "Neee, they invite the boy to do a thousand things when he is already entertained, now when he can no one shows up." Meanwhile, on September 24, he wrote: “Na, Lucio is sweet... Yesterday he came and hugged me out of nowhere, he is quite closed in expressing his affection, so I really appreciate being one of the few people who gives love without forcing it.

Autopsy

The autopsy of Lucio Dupuy was made by the forensic doctor, Juan Carlos Toulouse, who stated the following:

"I am not talking about everything he had out of respect for the child and the family, but I have been a coroner for 27 years and i have 5 years in La Plata, I have seen children and traumatisms, but I have never seen something like this"

It is been revealed that the child's body had cigarette burns, bites, multiple traumatisms as well as signs of sexual abuse, which was revealed to be because they abused him with sex toys. They also mutilated his genitalia by biting it, with him having died due to an internal hemorrhage.

Psychological Profile and Motives

The psychiatric analysis of both women, indicated signs of anti-social personality disorder with a strong mark of perversion. Both women presented superficial affability and lack of empathy, with the motive for the murder having been revealed to be because of misandry, sadism, hatred towards the victim's father and because they view the boy as an obstacle in their relationship, It is also worth to mention, that both women are drug addicts as well as drug dealers, but were completely aware of reality when they committed their crime. Both of them saw Lucio as a tool to gain money easily, and Abigail had a lot of activity in Twitter, in which she hypocritically stated that she couldn't believe how evil, cowardly, violent, lying and remorseless people were, while ironically having all of these traits herself.
