Fabiano Kipper Mai (unknown date birth) Is a Brazilian murderer of German descent who planned a slaughter at Aquarela daycare center in Saudades, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Prior to the attack edit
Fabiano was born from a family of German immigrants and it is a resident of the Morada do Sol district at Saudades. He lived in a brick house with his father, a gardener, his mother, a housewife, his sister and maternal grandmother, who is recovering from cancer, as well having a pet rabbit. In the land next door, the family plants flowers and fruits for their own consumption. He attended the third year of high school at E.E.B. Rodrigues Alves and worked embroidering clothes in a clothing factory in the city that worked from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a one-hour break. By co-workers he is described as a quiet man who never gave any signs that he was planning to attack a school.

Fabiano was not a well-known face in the city, unlike his father, who used to go to campsites to play bocce, but never accompanied his son, he has few friends, and is introspective and closed even with his family and spent most of his time playing games on his computer, as his father described her as "What I noticed about him, and I thought it was strange, is that he didn't talk to anyone. When people were there, he stayed in the room, he didn't mix. He only said good morning if you spoke to him first".
Attack edit
At around 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in the city of Saudades at the state Santa Catarina, Brazil. Fabiano burst into the Aquarela establishment with machete in hand and began to attack indiscriminately. Two teachers and three infants were killed and one child was injured. Mai attempted to commit suicide by stabbing himself in the chest using the katana, but survived and was taken to the emergency, while at the same time he was arrested.
Aftermath and investigation edit
Ferreira stated that Mai had relationship difficulties at “a level far above normal”. "In recent times, he has been increasingly isolating himself in the world" and that the young man "had access to a lot of inappropriate content and contact with people who thought like him. He started to feed this hatred to the point of wanting to take it out on someone. It wasn't someone specific it was a generalized hatred. The decision was taken based on the official expert's report, which found that Fabiano had schizophrenia, as he stayed in the hospital to treat his mental health instead of being sent to prison. During the investigation, which even had the support of the United States Embassy, more than 20 people were heard, with the criminal himself giving testimony on May 10, while he was still hospitalized, under police custody, at the Regional Hospital of the West, in Chapecó. The Civil Police agents discovered electronic gadgets and devices owned by Mai, including a knife he buyed in the internet and used to kill his rabbit.

The survivors where 27-year old teacher Aline Biazebetti who saved the remaining living child Henrique, 1 while Mai was still in the daycare, entered on his car and then take her to the hospital to treat his injuries caused by the katana' attacks "I will never forget that child's look at me, as a way of asking for help", said Aline, while the daycare' staff sucessfully escaped.
