Pastor Milciades Coronel
|
Pastor Milciades Coronel (9 August 1919 - 19 September 2000) was the Head of the Investigation Department of the Police of the Capital of Paraguay during much of the dictatorship of General Alfredo Stroessner. He is considered the emblematic character of the repressive police system of that government and responsible for multiple cases of human rights violations.
He behaved like a butcher, ordering many tortures and murders against political prisoners, apart from inhuman treatment and the creation of an atmosphere of terror in the population.
He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, and would die on September 19, 2000 in Asunción, being considered one of the greatest human rights violators during the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner.
