Ruby Thomas was a British teenager who along with friends kicked and stamped a 62-year-old gay man, Ian Baynham, to death in Trafalger Square around September 2009 when they were drunk. Before the beating, she screamed "f***ing faggots" at Baynham and a friend, Phillip Brown. Thomas was sentenced to 7 years in a young offender’s institution, which she began in 2011, and her ex-boyfriend Joel Alexander was given 6 years for the attack. Sometime before this attack Thomas had been expelled from school.
