Child sex charges edit

In April 2022, Marke and his wife Zara Phythian came to trial at Nottingham Crown Court for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl between 2005 and 2008. Marke was also accused of having sexually assaulted another girl. According to the 13-year-old girl, Marke and Phythian, working as karate instructors, used their positions to groom them and gain their trust. Once this was accomplished, Marke and Phythian had invited her to play a game of "dare" and plied her with alcohol. Marke then enticed her to take her clothes off before raping her while Phythian filmed. This incident repeated several dozen times over the next few years. The other victim claimed that she had accidentally touched Marke's leg when she was 16, to which he had responded by kissing her and groping her breasts and crotch.

On 11 May 2022, Marke and Phythian were convicted on all charges. Marke was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Trivia edit

  • Marke was allegedly friends with Paul Drury, another karate instructor convicted of raping a girl; a video emerged showing him training with a man who was allegedly Drury.
