We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.
~ The Fourteen Words

The White Power Movement is a generic term for anyone who follows the racist ideologies of white supremacy, or the belief that whites are superior to other races and therefore should be dominant over them. These people vary in manifestation from violent skinheads to seemingly decent preachers and businessmen. These groups and people are well known for its direct opposition to the Civil Rights Movement. Many white power groups and white supremacists also tend to be anti-semitic, Christophobic, Islamophobic, and homophobic as well, but not always. Many white power groups also tend to be openly fascist as well.

The movement largely grew out of the anti-black sentiment that was prevalent in the post-Civil War era of the United States following the end of slavery. The movement reached its peak during the Jim Crow era.

Although it is still existing in most countries, many nations have cracked-down on hate crimes. Its beliefs include their opinion that African-Americans and other races are inferior to theirs.
