• October 10 - Chiang Kai-shek reunifies China under the rule of the Kuomintang, and is named Chairman of the National Government of the Republic of China.
• December 5 to 6 - The Banana Massacre: Colombian Army forces under command of General Carlos Cortés Vargas and sent by President Miguel Abadía Méndez are deployed to the town of Ciénaga near Santa Marta, Colombia at the behest of the United Fruit Company to put down a labor strike. Between 47 and 2000 are killed.
