- June 10 to 15 - The Battle of Gaza: Hamas engages their rivals, the PLO-affiliated Fatah party, in military conflict. Hamas emerges victorious and becomes the de facto governing power of Gaza.
- June 22 to 24 - Professional wrestler Chris Benoit kills his wife and 7-year old son at their home in Fayetteville, Georgia before committing suicide. His reasons for doing so are unknown.
- June 25 to July 16 - The Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs go on a thrill kill rampage in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, killing 21 people and recording it in a snuff film called 3 Guys, 1 Hammer.
- June 29 - The second round of peace talks between Uganda and the Lord's Resistance Army commence in Juba.
- July 23 - 16-year old Daniel Petry tortures, rapes and brutally murders his 12-year old neighbor Gabriel Kuhn in Blumenau, Santa Clarita, Brazil over an minor video game dispute.
- July 24 - 2 year old Riley Ann Sawyers is beaten to death by her mother Kimberly Dawn Trenor and stepfather Royce Clyde Zeigler, Jr.
