Midhat Mursi al-Sayid Umar, AKA Abu Khabab al-Masri (29th April 1953 - 28th July 2008) was the top bomb maker for Al-Qaeda and a member of Osama bin Laden's inner circle. He is believed to have run the Derunta training camp, where he performed unethical experiments on animals such as dogs, earning him the nickname Al Qaeda's Mad Scientist, and was responsible for training Richard Reid and Zacarias Moussaoui. He was killed in a drone strike in Pakistan in 2008, alongside five others.
