  • September 13 - Amon Göth is hanged by the Supreme National Tribunal of Poland after being found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated in Poland during the Holocaust.
  • September 30 to October 1 - Ten high-ranking members of the Nazi Party are hanged at Nuremberg by the International Military Tribunal for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during World War II.
  • October 10 to November 9 - The Noakhali riots take place in Bengal: the Muslim National Guard kill Hindus in Bengal en masse, leaving an estimated 5000 people dead.
