- January 11 - 12-year old Shanda Sharer is kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by Melinda Loveless, Laurie Tackett, Hope Rippey, and Toni Lawrence in one of the most gruesome and horrific crimes to occur in the history of the state of Indiana.
