A Karma Houdini, in this context, is a historical villain who has one of the following traits:

• the villain simply died peacefully in his/her bed; in a ruler's case, while still in power
• the villain was deposes or put in a vulnerable position, but he/she escaped prosecution (ex.: Idi Amin)
• the villain is still alive today, and is either in an invulnerable position or on the run
• the villain committed suicide after committing a particular crime in order to avoid criminal charges
