Villains who display psychopathy are calculating, clever, emotionless and callous but lack traits such as empathy, shame, remorse, and true love. The reason why psychopaths commit crimes is because they lack a conscience.

They are, however, aware of their actions, but they are apathetic to the consequences and harm that follows and choose not to conform to social norms and/or the laws.
