Assault
Assault is the act of committing unwanted physical harm towards another person.
Assault can sometimes be known as battery. The difference is that battery only counts when one deliberately causes physical harm to another person. Assault as such, can count if one threatens to cause harm to another individual (i.e. threatening to punch a person). Despite this, both are often used interchangably as most federal charges group both crimes together.
