It's hard to believe that Robert Mugabe was once a good man. They need another name to describe what he is now.
~ Introduction to a documentary about Robert Mugabe.

These are real-life villains who initially started off as good people, but for one reason or another turned to evil acts. This is usually the end result of being betrayed, vengeful, tragic, exposed to corrupting influences, brainwashers, extortionists and/or blackmailers. Some former heroes may also become villains due to greed or cowardice.

Some can still redeem themselves, if they realize how evil they were (e.g. Malcolm X and George Wallace).

Please note that in order to qualify, a person must have been a genuine hero before turning evil.
