These are real-life villains who initially started off as good people, but for one reason or another turned to evil acts. This is usually the end result of being betrayed, vengeful, tragic, exposed to corrupting influences, brainwashers, extortionists and/or blackmailers. Some former heroes may also become villains due to greed or cowardice.

Some can still redeem themselves, if they realize how evil they were (e.g. Malcolm X).

Please note that in order to qualify, a person must have been a genuine hero before turning evil:

• Normal people, i.e. average joes, do not count. They should go under From Nobody to Nightmare instead.
• False heroes, if they never were good, they do not count either. They should go under Faux Affably Evil, Liars, Cheater, Tricksters, Hypocrites, Delusional, Traitor, Master Manipulator and/or Con Artists instead.
• Normal law enforcement, military, fire department, guards, paramedics, agents, wardens, etc. who became evil do not count (e.g. Adolf Eichmann, Che Guevara, Stacey Koon and Derek Chauvin). They should go under Corrupt Officials, Military and/or Jingoists instead, unless they are reported to have done something truly heroic (e.g. Benedict Arnold, Andrew Jackson, William Tecumseh Sherman, George Armstrong Custer and J. Edgar Hoover).
• Normal businesspeople, CEOs, managers, workers, doctors, scientists, teachers, mayors, politicians, principals, etc. who became evil do not count (e.g. Donald Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, Martin Shkreli, Hans Asperger and Bruce Jeffrey Pardo). They should go under Corrupt Officials, Doctors and Scientists and/or Business Leaders instead, unless they are reported to have done something truly heroic (e.g. Joseph McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Rudy Giuliani and Robert Kraft).
• Normal students who became evil do not count (e.g. Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Seung-Hui Cho, Adam Lanza, Nikolas Cruz, Brock Turner, Bailey O'Neill's Murderers and Timothy Crump). They should go under Young villains instead, unless they are reported to have done something truly heroic.
• Anti-villains, despite having noble goals, do not count if they were not heroes to begin with (e.g. Floyd rioters). They should go under Anti - Villain instead, unless they actually were/are heroes who turned to the dark side (Chiang Kai-shek, Deng Xiaoping and Nat Turner).
• Nice people, villains that were simply nice people before they became villains also do not count if they did nothing truly heroic before they actually became villains. They should go under Affably Evil instead, if they still retain(ed) this quality.
• Celebrities, or villains that simply had good reputation do not count (e.g. John Wilkes Booth, O.J. Simpson, Bill Cosby, Mike Tyson, Chris Benoit, Kanye West, R. Kelly, Amber Heard, Harvey Weinstein and Roman Polanski). They should go under Charismatic, Athletic, Artistic and/or Faux Affably Evil‏ instead, unless they actually were heroes before their fall to villainy.
